About Bluline

Our medical healthcare scheme was created in 1998 to provide crucial support to police officers in the event of ill health or injury. It gives you access to a fast, professional diagnosis and top quality medical treatment, to help you get better and back to work as quickly as possible.

Designed for police officers, and managed by police officers, our members are at the heart of everything we do. As a not for profit organisation, all money that comes into the scheme is used for the benefit of our members. But things happen, often through no fault of your own. Physical injury and ill health can lead to time off work, which in turn can interrupt your career path or result in reduced pay - sometimes even no pay at all.

The Bluline healthcare scheme is available to serving police officers and police staff. It covers typical health issues that police officers might experience, including physical injuries sustained in training or at work, and more.

If a member of your family has been injured or seriously ill you will know the anguish it can cause. With Bluline, cover can be extended to include members of your immediate family, to provide additional peace of mind for you. 

The benefits of a
discretionary scheme

All claims are individually assessed by our administration team. In some instances, if treatment falls outside the scheme rules, the case can be referred to our board of directors for review - this is done anonymously. Being a discretionary scheme, we are sometimes able to approve claims that other insurance providers might not.

No two claims are the same, every one has unique characteristics which are taken into account when the claim is being assessed.
